IntroductionEdit

This wiki aims to serve as a interface between those wanting to find out more about [1] - part of the Chennai .NET User Group (CNUG) the parent group and is meant to facilitate the better interaction and accessability of resources to Microsoft based .NET Technologies for beginners, enthusiasts among the student commmunity in Chennai.

PurposeEdit

The Student Chapter of the Chennai .NET User Group CNUG) is a graduate student group dedicated to promoting, improving, and developing interest in Microsoft .NET technologies among campus students of Chennai. The group promotes professional, social, and educational interaction among students interested in .NET or related technologies, by facilitating students' communication with academia, Microsoft and other corporate representatives.

HistoryEdit

The Chennai .NET User Group Student Chapter (CNUGStudent) first came under the big Chennai .NET User Group (cnug.net) around September 2004, and was the first .NET user group to be set up in India. CNUGStudent was started by Kevin D'Souza and quickly shot up its members, and then starting its first official session in NIIT Nungambakkam on Jan 25th which over 40 people attended. Microsoft Student PartnersEdit

Microsoft Student Champs are a select group of undergraduate and graduate students in technical majors who share two passions – a passion for software development and a passion for sharing their knowledge with other students.We want to recognize those students whose actions have a lasting impact spreading excitement and knowledge of software issues around the student community.If you are interested in representing your college then read this post.

Community LaunchesEdit

This is where we showcase the latest development releases and announce major initiatives for the academic community, including the Ready Launch Tour; Academic events, Community releases, student resource kits distributions, and so on. Details regarding events will updated on the groups.

Tech TalkEdit

This is CNUGStudent's flagship event hosted by the volunteers and is associated with a series of Technical seminars on Technologies that dominate the Academic Projects Program, development trends, as well as quiz's and demo's apart from giving away resources such as Express editions, student academic resource kits, study materials and presentation guides, SDK's and API's, and so on to urge the students to experiment with the latest releases, as soon as they are released.

Usergroup Meets Edit

Where we bring to you seminars, talks and discussions with professionals from the industry,illustrious speakers and noted Microsoft Developer and Academic Evangelists and employees, at different locations across the city through out the year.

Hands on Lab sessions Edit

Where we bring to your college,the experts, Student Champs who help introduce and guide in initiating clubs, providing link and resources, and most importantly facilitate live demo's of developing for the .NET framework with user manuals and carefully planned mentoring.

Student Champ Meets Edit

Where the representatives from colleges across the city,and Student Ambassdors plan and brainstorm the years events and plan the various meets, events, and strategies to enable the students with the tools and resources they need,get trained and mentoed by the experts and Academic Enangelists, as well as reach out to their peers .
